Home-to-Home Pet Adoption Services, Inc. is a 501(c)(3)not-for-profit organization serving the people and companion animals of Otsego, Delaware and Chenango Counties of Central New York State.
Home-to-Home's mission is to reduce the number of animals abandoned or surrendered to animal shelters by promoting and facilitating the positive alternative of direct home-to-home pet adoptions.
Home-to-Home was created in response to the belief that every companion animal deserves a secure and loving home throughout its lifetime and should never be abandoned or unnecessarily surrendered to an animal shelter to face a stressful and uncertain future.
Home-to-Home's goals are:
  • to spare animals the trauma of abandonment and the stress of confinement in a shelter
  • to ease the burden of local animal shelters
  • to assist and support pet owners and adopters
  • to promote responsible treatment of all companion animals
  • to help animals successfully move from home to home.
Home-to-Home provides both a central forum for distributing information about animals available for adoption and an application/screening process that will give pet owners and adopters an opportunity to meet one another conveniently and confidently.
Home-to-Home offers additional support in the form of educational materials on pet adoption, training and behavior. Home-to-Home also supplies contact information for local trainers, veterinarians, shelters, boarding kennels, pet-sitting services, groomers, sources of feed and animal care supplies, etc.
Home-to-Home and the services it provides have the potential to directly and positively affect the lives of animals and to benefit pet owners, adopters and animal shelters in the area that it serves. Through example and education, Home-to-Home also has the opportunity to promote a greater understanding of the needs of companion animals and to encourage the compassionate, responsible treatment they deserve.
